There are different types of projector screens available and one has to make choice depending on the different needs and environment. There are three basic types of projection screen :
Manual Wall Mount Screens: are those that are available in almost all sizes. They are attached to walls or ceilings and can be raised and lowered by hand. They are cheaper than the electric screens.
Electric Wall-Mount Screen: these screens are easy to operate and look more impressive to audiences. They are raised and lowered by the electric motor.
Portable Screens: as the name indicates the portable screens are smaller in size and are easy to move. They are inexpensive as well.
The most important factor for any type of screen is the brightness which is measured in gain. The industry standard for brightness is 1.0 gain.
The screens are available in three different shapes namely square, full screen and wide screen. While some have black border or drop, these types of screens helps to frame the image and gives a more finished look.
