What is an Opaque Projector?
One of the oldest types of projection devices, the Opaque Projectors were launched in the market in the early to mid 1900s as economical toy projectors. They also proved helpful to the artists, used as artist’s enlarging device. The projectors helped the images and sketches to be transferred to the canvas. The projected image on the canvas works as a guide for the artist’s painting.
The opaque projectors can display art work, books, photos, documents and opaque objects simply by shining their light down. The mirror and an imaging lens help the image of the object to focus on a viewing screen. These projectors come with cooling fans but still care should be taken that the heat from the projectors light does not harm the object being used. The opaque projectors were the precursor of the overhead projectors. These projectors are still in use but not as compared to other modern projectors.
