What should I look for while Buying Projectors?

No doubt choosing a right projector would be a real herculean task. As there are several manufacturers and hundreds of projectors to choose from. The information given here will help you with to know the best features and the one that meets to your specific needs. To start with not all projectors have the same technology involved for its construction.

Some are designed with the LCD and DLP projection technology whiles other with LCOS. Based on these projection technologies, their advantages and disadvantages will help you to choose a one suitable for you.

The LCD technology excels in the color saturation and detailed images with deeper and more vibrant colors and the images are clear and sharp. Even the brightness in this technology ranges variedly.

The DLP technology is highly preferred by home theatres for its less pixilation and is capable of producing high contrast ratio. It is nothing but to measure how black the black levels look on video. The greatest advantage is they are much smaller than LCD, as they work on one chip they are more compact and available in micro-portable projector format. But it has just one draw back of rainbow effect. It is due to the color wheel which when modulates images also produces a visible artifact on screen.

In The latest LCOS technology there are absolutely less pixilation, which give rise to high resolution. It gives rich colors to the images and no rainbow effect what so ever. But it has low contrast ratio and limited lamp life which is 1000to 1500 hours range whereas in other projectors the lamp life is 2000 hours.
